As the world's largest Christmas-goods sourcing hub, Yiwu is seeing a product upgrade in its festive line: traditional ornaments are being replaced on order sheets by sound-and-light pendants, AI recording cards, bionic butterflies and dancing robots, according to front-line observations reported by Guangming Net and CCTV.
The 'smart' variants are becoming the main driver of new orders. Mature, low-cost voice modules, micro-motors and sensors in Yiwu keep the marginal cost of adding intelligence far below the terminal price premium, while products that 'perform' suit short-video demos on platforms like TikTok. One operator said a cartoon plush hot-water bottle with a hook sells out, while an AI-glasses merchant reported single-day peak shipments in the hundreds and over 30% customer growth in the first three quarters of 2026.
