People's Daily reported on November 6 that artificial intelligence in China has moved from labs to factories, fields and offices, with more than 10,000 advanced-level smart factories built nationwide. Over 8,000 grassroots medical institutions have accessed cloud-based AI imaging services, markedly improving accuracy and efficiency in lung-nodule and cervical-cancer screening.
AI is creating new jobs and upgrading traditional roles, while making social governance warmer: city patrol vehicles automatically identify more than 40 types of urban-management issues, and large models break data barriers between government departments. Wang Ruomeng, deputy director of the NDRC's Department of Innovation and High-Tech Development, said China's AI development speed and application scale already lead the world.
The 15th Five-Year Plan outlines deepening the "AI Plus" action. Wang said the country will coordinate "point, line and surface" efforts: targeting high-risk scenarios such as mining and emergency response, building national AI application pilot bases in manufacturing and healthcare, and refining the "AI Plus" policy system with scenario classifications.
