iFlytek will use its annual developer festival on October 22 to launch the Spark X2.6 large model together with a fully domestic computing plan built on Huawei's Ascend 950 processors, according to company announcements reported by Chinese media.
The pairing is positioned as a statement about self-reliance: Spark X2.6 will be trained and served on Chinese-made chips rather than imported accelerators, making iFlytek one of the first major Chinese AI vendors to commit to a full-stack domestic compute path for a flagship model.
The move follows a string of domestic hardware milestones in recent months, including Huawei's Ascend 950 supernode family and a growing ecosystem of domestic inference chips, as Chinese AI companies work to insulate model development from export controls on advanced semiconductors.
iFlytek's Spark series has been deployed across education, healthcare, office and industrial scenarios in China, and the company has emphasized low-cost, application-ready AI for government and enterprise customers. Industry watchers expect X2.6 to emphasize agent capabilities and vertical-domain performance, aligning with the broader industry shift from model releases toward deployment and revenue-generating applications.
The developer festival is one of China's largest AI industry gatherings and has historically served as the stage for iFlytek's biggest product launches, including earlier Spark generations and its learning-device hardware lines.
