The National Data Group Co., Ltd. was inaugurated in Xiong'an New Area, Hebei, on Oct. 20, ranking 28th on the central state-owned enterprise list. The group is a centrally administered SOE whose principal business is the development and utilization of data resources.
It aims to advance data resource development, unlock the value of data as a factor of production, serve the development of artificial intelligence, and foster a thriving data-industry ecosystem. The formation of this national 'data team' is expected to provide high-quality datasets and corpora for AI model training, marking an institutional milestone in coordinating market-based allocation of data factors with AI industrial development.
