As the world's largest Christmas-goods sourcing hub, Yiwu is seeing a wave of innovation-driven exports. Beyond the traditional reorder surge, AI-enabled products such as AI Christmas trees, AI recording cards, bionic butterflies and dancing robots are becoming new growth drivers for the city's foreign trade.
An operator of the Yiwu Global Digital Trade Center said AI glasses have been a hot item in 2026, with peak daily shipments of over 100 units and customer growth above 30% in the first three quarters. According to Yiwu Customs, the city's total foreign-trade exports reached 548.85 billion yuan in Jan.–Aug. 2026, up 12.8% year on year, with Christmas-goods exports to Latin America, the EU and ASEAN totaling 3.23 billion yuan, or 67.9% of the city's Christmas-goods exports.
