At its 2026 Global Innovation Conference, Chery introduced the 'Xunlong' second-generation flash-charging system and commercial vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology that can add roughly 500 km of range in five minutes of charging, co-developed with CATL.
Chery vice president Gu Chunshan said the company will debut V2G on the Fengyun A9 EV in the first half of 2027 and build second-generation charging stations combining flash charge and V2G in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hefei and Wuhu by year-end, aiming for 20,000 charging stations worldwide by 2029. Chery also activated China's first large-scale V2G operational site on Oct. 16.
