German automotive authorities reported that new pure-electric car registrations in October rose 79.5% year on year, accounting for 37% of the new-car market, with imported models making up about half of the segment.
The surge underscores the resilience of European demand for Chinese and other imported EVs even amid trade frictions and tariff uncertainty. Combined with Britain's October pure-EV registrations up about 54% and a roughly 32% market share, the data point to a faster-than-expected electrification pace in major European markets that continues to pull in overseas NEV supply.
