On November 5, Changan Automobile said its first painting-line visual-AI glue-robot has gone online at its Liangjiang plant. The team introduced an AI vision platform and built a large-model inspection system based on a deep convolutional neural network.
After more than a hundred rounds of point alignment, trajectory debugging and bead verification, the robot overcame process pain points such as point deviation, uneven gluing and incomplete corner coverage, automatically identifying job positions through vision. The deployment is part of a broader push by Chinese automakers to embed AI directly into production lines, raising consistency and freeing workers from repetitive, precision-sensitive tasks.
