NINGDE, Fujian, July 2026 - CATL, the world's largest EV battery manufacturer, has unveiled its next-generation 5C ultra-fast charging long-life battery technology, which the company claims definitively breaks the "impossible triangle" of power battery performance - the traditional trade-off between energy density, charging speed, and cycle life.

Under ideal conditions at 20°C, the new battery technology achieves 3,000 charge-discharge cycles, dramatically exceeding industry standards. Morgan Stanley recently compared 12 pure electric vehicles and 100 battery samples, finding CATL batteries demonstrated significantly lower degradation rates than competitors. In real-world testing, a CATL-powered vehicle accumulated 2 million kilometers (approximately 1.25 million miles) while maintaining exceptional battery health.

CATL has also made significant strides in sodium-ion battery technology, signing a 5 GWh storage partnership with Alfen in Europe in July 2026. The company's cumulative R&D investment has exceeded 90 billion yuan, with over 20,000 R&D personnel and more than 50,000 patent applications. CATL received the 2026 Volkswagen Group Award, further cementing its position as the indispensable partner for global automakers transitioning to electrification.
