Denmark has joined Norway at the top of the electric-vehicle transition. New data shows that 97% of vehicles bought by private buyers in July were fully battery-electric. Of 14,562 new passenger cars registered in Denmark that month, 11,672 were BEVs — 80.2% of all registrations and 97% of private purchases. "The electric car has become the natural choice for almost all Danes when they buy a new car," said Mads Rorvig, CEO of Mobility Denmark. Norway continued to lead with BEVs at 97.6% of new registrations, while Finland reported 48.3% fully electric and the Netherlands 47.3%. Mobility Denmark expects Denmark's BEV fleet to surpass one million early next year.
