Meta released Muse Glimmer, an open-source 30-billion-parameter AI agent model under the Apache 2.0 license, with weights available on Hugging Face. The model is specifically designed for agent tasks including end-to-end task execution, tool invocation, multi-step reasoning, failure recovery, and multimodal understanding.
After 4-bit quantization, Muse Glimmer requires only 24GB of VRAM and can run on a single GPU, making it accessible for individual developers and small teams. The model supports over 100 languages and mainstream deployment frameworks.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg published a lengthy essay titled The Future is for Everyone, advocating for reduced regulation of open-source AI and arguing that superintelligence should empower individuals rather than concentrate power in a few institutions.
