A global technology alliance has unveiled Stargate UAE, the first deployment of the Stargate AI infrastructure platform outside the United States, to be built in Abu Dhabi as part of a new 5-gigawatt UAE-U.S. AI Campus.
The partners - G42, OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, SoftBank Group and Cisco - announced on October 19, 2026, that Stargate UAE will be a one-gigawatt compute cluster operated by OpenAI and Oracle, with NVIDIA supplying its latest Grace Blackwell GB300 systems and Cisco providing zero-trust security and AI-ready connectivity. The first 200-megawatt cluster is expected to go live in 2026.
The broader UAE-U.S. AI Campus spans roughly 10 square miles and will provide five gigawatts of AI data-center capacity, powered by a mix of nuclear, solar and natural gas. Officials framed the project under a new U.S.-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership aimed at advancing secure, sovereign AI infrastructure.
OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman called it the first milestone in the company's 'OpenAI for Countries' initiative to build AI infrastructure with allies worldwide. The facility is intended to support scientific discovery and industry applications across healthcare, energy and finance.
