YIWU, Zhejiang, Aug. 2, 2026 - CCTV Financial Channel's "First Time" program reported that Yiwu has significantly accelerated its air cargo export capabilities in 2026. New land-air combined transport routes have been launched, including Yiwu-Shanghai-Los Angeles (truck-to-air) and Yiwu-Guangzhou-Belgrade (air-to-air transit), enabling cross-border e-commerce goods to reach global consumers faster.
The new logistics channels have reduced overall delivery time by at least 10%. A Yiwu cross-border e-commerce merchant reported that goods shipped via the Yiwu-Shanghai-Los Angeles route now reach US consumers in just 3-5 days, compared to significantly longer timelines previously. The land-air combined model leverages Shanghai Pudong International Airport's extensive global network while utilizing Yiwu's efficient ground transportation infrastructure.
This logistics upgrade comes as Yiwu's air cargo volumes surge, driven by the rapid growth of cross-border e-commerce and the increasing share of higher-value, time-sensitive products in Yiwu's export mix. The Yiwu Express (Cross-Border) Supervision Center has been processing growing volumes of small-package shipments destined for global consumers through platforms like TikTok Shop, Amazon, and Temu.
