In the golden autumn sourcing season, purchasers from around the world are busy at the Yiwu International Trade City in Zhejiang, inspecting samples, asking after prices and negotiating orders, with the market reporting brisk two-way trade.
Buyers from Sri Lanka have been sourcing plush toys, buyers from Libya negotiating locks, buyers from Oman looking at smart toys, buyers from Cote d'Ivoire discussing building and decoration materials, and buyers from Brazil examining hardware tools - a snapshot of the breadth of demand converging on the 'world supermarket.'
Yiwu's International Trade City hosts more than 70,000 booths offering over 2.1 million kinds of goods across 26 major categories, serving buyers from more than 230 countries and regions, and remains the single largest wholesale hub for small commodities anywhere in the world.
The steady flow of overseas buyers through autumn underscores the market's continued pull as a global sourcing destination, with demand spanning toys, stationery, fashion accessories, daily hardware and increasingly AI-powered consumer gadgets.
