YIWU, Zhejiang, Aug. 2026 - According to Yiwu Customs data, Christmas product exports reached 2.14 billion yuan in the first half of 2026, a year-on-year increase of 20.4%, covering more than 20,000 product categories exported to over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Nearly 80% of global Christmas decorations, gifts, and festive lights originate from Yiwu.
A significant shift has occurred in procurement patterns: the peak purchasing season has moved forward from August in previous years to April through July in 2026 - a full season earlier. This reflects global buyers' increasing confidence in placing early orders with Yiwu suppliers, driven by the city's unmatched supply chain reliability and speed.
The H1 data also revealed that European heatwaves drove surging demand for cooling products: handheld fans, cooling textiles, and portable refrigeration devices saw explosive order growth from Europe, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia. Overseas festival and holiday merchandise orders also spiked, contributing to Yiwu's overall cross-border e-commerce transaction volume exceeding 100 billion yuan for the first time in a half-year period.
