BEIJING, July 14, 2026 - At a State Council Information Office press conference on China's H1 2026 foreign trade performance, Customs spokesman Lv Daliang highlighted Yiwu as a standout case: the city's market procurement exports reached 347.25 billion yuan in the first half of 2026, a year-on-year increase of 16.4%.
Market procurement trade, an innovative customs clearance model pioneered in Yiwu, has become the primary channel for SMEs to access global markets. Under this model, buyers can consolidate multiple categories and batches of small orders into a single container, dramatically simplifying customs procedures. One Yiwu customs brokerage reported handling approximately 3,000 containers per month through market procurement in H1 2026.
Lv Daliang noted that Yiwu's private enterprises have demonstrated remarkable entrepreneurial spirit, leveraging market procurement policies to rapidly respond to diverse and changing global demand. The model, originally developed as a Yiwu-specific innovation, has now been replicated across multiple specialized markets throughout China. Total national foreign trade reached 25.47 trillion yuan in H1 2026, the first time exceeding 25 trillion yuan for a half-year period, with private enterprises contributing nearly 60% of growth.
