YIWU, Zhejiang - In a concerted push to expand international market presence, Yiwu organized 129 enterprises to participate in overseas trade fairs during 2026. The Yiwu International Commodities Fair (Yiwu Fair) overseas editions were held or planned in São Paulo, Brazil; Bangkok, Thailand; Seoul, South Korea; and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, among other locations.
Earlier in the year, nearly 20 Yiwu enterprises made their debut at the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair on January 12, followed by 10 enterprises participating in the 22nd Bologna Children's Book Fair in Italy on January 14. The aggressive exhibition strategy reflects Yiwu's determination to reduce dependency on any single market and build diversified trade channels.
Jinhua city, which administers Yiwu, released its 2026 key business exhibition directory at the beginning of the year, systematically guiding enterprises to participate in overseas exhibitions. These exhibitions serve multiple purposes: securing orders, understanding market dynamics, identifying business opportunities, expanding export channels, and building brand awareness. For many Yiwu SMEs, participation in overseas fairs marks their transition from anonymous suppliers in global supply chains to recognized brand owners.
