Envision Group announced on November 2 that its integrated 800V high-voltage direct-current power supply system has entered commercial operation at its Xinghe base in Ulanqab, becoming the world's first system of its kind running commercially in a large AI data center.
Comprising a Tian Shu controller, solid-state transformer, DC energy storage and DC/DC units, the system supports the base's planned 3 GW capacity with more than 80% direct green-power connection. The base began production in August.
As AI training and inference drive surging data-center power demand, the 800V DC architecture promises higher efficiency and simpler integration of renewable energy, offering a Chinese-led template for the energy backbone of the AI era and reducing reliance on traditional AC conversion chains.
