According to calculations based on the latest OpenRouter data, global AI model calls reached 194 trillion tokens in the week of October 26–November 1, up 3.19% week on week. Chinese models accounted for 99.55 trillion tokens, up 6.43%, ranking No.1 in the world for the 27th consecutive week and staying ahead of the United States.
Four of the world's top five models by call volume were Chinese, with DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 leading at 48.1 trillion tokens. MiniMax M3.1 Flash surged 690% week on week to eighth place, reflecting rapid uptake of China's newest open models.
The figures underscore the scale and cost-efficiency of China's open-source and domestic models, which continue to dominate global usage even as competition intensifies on capability and price, with Chinese frontier models undercutting rivals by orders of magnitude on task cost.
