Yiwu's express (cross-border) supervision center has seen cumulative export value reach $450 million so far this year, more than doubling the full-year total of last year, according to the Jinhua State-owned Assets Supervision Commission. The center now ships nearly 10,000 cross-border parcels a day to more than 30 countries.
Behind the surge is a comprehensive upgrade in speed, model and service. A nationally pioneering digital consolidation model — 'cross-border manifest + customs declaration' and 'inspect before loading' — lets e-commerce, general trade and market-procurement goods share a container, saving about 500 yuan per container and halving vehicle queuing time.
TIR international road transport enables 'clear-on-arrival' across customs zones, while land-air and sea-rail transshipment open diversified corridors. Smart checkpoints, electronic seals and round-the-clock clearance keep goods moving, reinforcing Yiwu's role as a global trade hub and lowering the cost for small and micro enterprises to participate in world trade.
