China's artificial intelligence inference data volume has surpassed training data volume for the first time, signaling the country's AI has moved from the model-development lab into scaled industrial application, according to a report released by the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID).
As of June 2026, average daily token calls exceeded 175 trillion — more than 1,000 times the level of early 2024. The iteration cycle of top large models has compressed from months to weeks or even days. China has built more than 500 'excellent-grade' smart factories spanning 31 provincial regions and over 80% of manufacturing categories, while domestic computing power and large models have been deployed in more than 1,000 application scenarios across 20 industries.
The report highlights cross-disciplinary fusion — such as intelligent connected vehicles and brain-computer interfaces — as the main battlefield for 'new-domain, new-quality' innovation, already contributing over half of the growth in the value added of above-scale industry.
