On October 31, the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) released its "Top Ten Trends in New-Domain and New-Quality Innovation and Development," showing that China's artificial-intelligence inference data volume has surpassed training data volume for the first time — a milestone signaling that the country's AI has moved from the model-training R&D stage into scaled industrial application.
The report shows that by June 2026, average daily token calls exceeded 175 trillion, more than 1,000 times the level of early 2024, while the iteration cycle of top large models has compressed from months to weeks or even days, shifting AI fully from a lab "feeding models" phase into an industrial "using models" phase.
Smart manufacturing is a key scenario: more than 500 excellent-grade smart factories have been built nationwide, covering 31 provinces and over 80% of manufacturing sub-sectors, while domestic compute power and large models have landed in more than 1,000 application scenarios across 20 industries such as steel and automotive. The report also highlights brain-computer interfaces and intelligent connected vehicles as cross-fusion battlegrounds delivering disruptive innovation.
