Yiwu posted GDP of 208.88 billion yuan in the first three quarters of 2026, up 7.9% year on year — the fastest growth among Zhejiang province's 17 strongest county-level economies, according to local economic data.
High-tech manufacturing rose 57.4%, manufacturing investment grew 30.2% and high-tech industrial investment climbed 59.4%, reflecting a rapid upgrade of the city's industrial base. In foreign trade, exports to Africa reached 135.903 billion yuan in January-September, up 30.18%, while Yiwu International Trade City opened overseas branch markets in Angola and Tanzania to extend its small-commodity reach across the continent.
The data underscores how a market once known for daily goods is evolving into a digital-trade and high-tech manufacturing hub with deepening global linkages.
