Beijing's economy and information technology authority has issued the city's Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Implementation Plan (2026-2030), laying out an ambitious roadmap for fuel-cell vehicles and the broader hydrogen value chain.
By 2030, Beijing aims to have cumulatively promoted more than 10,000 fuel-cell vehicles, built over 40 hydrogen refueling stations, and achieved large-scale application in green chemicals and combined heat-and-power scenarios. The city's hydrogen industry chain is targeted to exceed 40 billion yuan, helping drive the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region past 100 billion yuan.
The plan positions hydrogen as a strategic piece of the region's green-transition and industrial-upgrading strategy, emphasizing an autonomous, economical and secure supply chain.
