Yiwu, a landlocked "world's capital of small commodities," is solving a long-standing pain point for its millions of small merchants:零散 shipments that could not fill a full container, plus multi-step transshipment and unpredictable timing.
A combined "double-fast + consolidated warehouse" solution now brings the port to Yiwu's doorstep. The "double-fast" refers to a rail-sea express line plus a shipping express route: trains run directly from Yiwu West Station to Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, with entry into Yiwu Port treated as entry into Ningbo-Zhoushan, enabling one declaration, one inspection and one release. Containers then connect to direct ocean express lines, saving more than ten days versus traditional routes and cutting overall logistics cost by over 10%.
Four "double-fast" routes have been opened — to Wilhelmshaven via Ningbo-Zhoushan, plus dedicated lines to Dubai and a U.S. e-commerce express, and a COSCO double-fast train from Yiwu West to Wenzhou Port.
The consolidated warehouse acts like a terminal moved into Yiwu itself: small orders from many merchants are pooled and declared together, giving small sellers the pricing and capacity of scale. Crucially, goods are declared before packing, so if one item fails inspection the rest can still ship — sharply lowering risk for small traders.
