A China-Germany joint meeting on automated and connected driving was held in Berlin on September 14, with officials from China's MIIT and Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and Federal Ministry of Transport discussing standards, type approval, road-testing, vehicle data management and V2X technology.

Both sides agreed to deepen practical cooperation on standards coordination and test mutual recognition, and to strengthen international standards alignment for intelligent connected vehicles, calling the platform an important channel for government, industry and enterprise exchange.

On the corporate front, the Zhijie RX received an L3-level autonomous-driving road-test license on September 16, marking another step in China's push toward higher levels of driving automation.

Separately, Hong Kong's first five-year plan (2026–2030) explicitly calls for advancing cross-boundary autonomous-driving development, optimizing measures such as "Hong Kong cars northbound" and promoting charging-infrastructure interoperability across the Greater Bay Area.
