On September 16 alone, at least five major new models hit the market and one opened pre-sales, with Leapmotor also holding a tech launch—dubbed by auto media the busiest day of the month. The triple driver of the peak-season window, traffic anxiety and industry acceleration pushed makers into an almost "false-start" scramble for the Golden September–Silver October period.
Li Auto's i9 targets upscale families as a flagship six-seat pure-electric SUV (5,225 mm long, 3,168 mm wheelbase). Arcfox's Alpha T7 arrives at a subsidized 137,800–174,800 yuan with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro (hidden lidar, urban and highway navigation), Alibaba Qianwen and Doubao AI agents, and a 1.1 m panoramic PHUD. The long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz GLE (wheelbase +120 mm to 3,115 mm) brings a triple-screen cockpit, Doubao AI and Momenta driving, with a localized price near 600,000 yuan.
BYD's Fangchengbao launched the Fang S and Fang S GT (shooting-brake and coupe, from 230,000 yuan pre-sale), while Hongqi opened pre-sales of the H7 PHEV from 181,800 yuan, debuting the "Zhinan" urban-navigation system. Analysts say the clustering reflects a two-week runway before National Day orders and a development cycle compressed from five–seven years to about two, forcing makers to race on timing.
