On September 15, Qianzhan and NetEase reported that China's National Medical Products Administration approved the country's third brain-computer interface (BCI) medical-device standard—and the world's first BCI product standard to use AI to process EEG data. The new standard takes effect on September 1, 2027, systematically specifying data collection, processing, labeling, storage and access across the full lifecycle.
At the opening of the 2026 National Cybersecurity Week in Jinan (September 14–20, jointly organized by ten departments including the Cyberspace Administration of China), the "Artificial Intelligence Security Governance Framework 3.0," results of the 2026 AI-Empowered Cybersecurity Application Test, and cybersecurity labels for consumer networked cameras were also released.
The framework responds to rising AI-security concerns and, together with the BCI standard, strengthens China's lead in setting rules for the safe, governed application of frontier AI technologies.
