On September 14, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) officially approved the "Plan for the Ministry-Province Joint Support of Yiwu as a National Industry-Trade Coordination Pilot Zone," reported Zhejiang Daily and Tide News.
Yiwu will advance three reforms: nurturing a new type of industry-trade integrated enterprise, establishing a cross-region coordinated-development results-sharing mechanism, and building a multidimensional industrial-export monitoring and coordination mechanism. The goal is to form a framework in 2026, land the pilot by 2027 and fully build it out by 2030.
So far this year, Yiwu has marketized 87 industrial-land transactions, with merchants taking 30 plots—directly supporting the shift of trading firms toward "design + capacity + brand." The approval gives Yiwu's small-commodity exporters a policy channel to transform from pure trading to integrated industry-trade operations.
