A September 14 Zhejiang Daily front-page report described how Yiwu's Global Digital Trade Center IP Service Center is making big-brand licensing easy for small merchants.
Established in May by Yiwu Mall Group, the center negotiates with global IP owners and has secured production and sales authorization for over 2,000 domestic and overseas IPs including Disney and Pokémon, building an "IP pool."
Like an "IP supermarket," it adopts centralized procurement and global-sharing, opening resources to small and medium merchants. Its "use-first, share-later" mechanism lowers merchants' IP licensing costs by over 40%, with rights-holders earning more only when goods sell well.
The center also leverages Yiwu's 20-plus cross-border e-commerce platforms to build an integrated "overseas IP authorization + Chinese manufacturing + cross-border e-commerce" export chain, with one-stop product development, cross-border marketing and IP protection.
