According to a Southern Metropolis Daily report on September 11, 2026, Guangdong's intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry cluster generated revenue exceeding 1.1 trillion RMB in the first half of 2026.
GAC, BYD and XPeng reported strong first-half overseas revenue performance, with growth of 109%, surpassing 50% and exceeding 25% respectively. From January to July, Guangdong's NEV output increased by 49%.
The province's auto industry is shifting from product export to ecosystem export, with companies expanding overseas manufacturing, R&D and sales networks. Guangdong has become China's largest provincial NEV manufacturing base.
The development reflects the broader trend of Chinese NEV clusters moving up the value chain and building global brands.
