Yiwu, September 10, 2026 — Yiwu's cross-border (express) supervision centre exported goods worth USD 450 million in the first eight months of 2026, double the full-year total for 2025, with a daily average of nearly 10,000 parcels shipped to more than 30 countries and regions.
The key efficiency gain is that the parcel-picking cycle has been compressed to a single day, according to industry sources. The improvement is driven by a "manifest-plus-declaration" model combined with inspect-before-load mixed-container operations, which integrate cross-border e-commerce, general trade and market-procurement trade into the same container.
Single-container costs have been reduced by about 500 yuan. Yiwu is shifting the basis of competition from price to speed and container efficiency, enabling buyers in more than 30 countries to receive Yiwu goods faster.
The development reflects how a land-locked inland city has built a globally competitive small-commodities export hub by combining policy innovation, multi-modal logistics and digital infrastructure.
