In the first half of 2026, the Yiwu International Trade City recorded average daily foot traffic of 294,000 visitors, up 34% year on year, with foreign merchants averaging 12,000 per day, up 30%. The surge in trade is underpinned by manufacturing upgrades driven by digital transformation.
Zhejiang Shanqi Apparel, operating in a nearly 60,000-square-meter new factory, has become Yiwu's first national-level 5G factory in the apparel industry. The factory uses a full-scale overhead suspension system that connects cutting, sewing, and packaging processes across floors, eliminating the traditional chaos of fabric pile-ups and semi-finished products on the floor.
The intelligent collaborative cloud platform, developed by Zhejiang Mobile, integrates over ten business systems including orders, sampling, planning, procurement, production, logistics, and equipment. After digital upgrading, Shanqi's production efficiency increased by over 20%, order delivery rate improved by approximately 20%, floor space utilization rose 2.5 times, and annual output value grew by more than 10%.
The transformation reflects Yiwu's broader strategy of upgrading from "front shop, back factory" to "digital trade plus digital smart manufacturing" dual-wheel drive, covering everything from festival decorations to new energy equipment.
