At a November 3 press conference in the "Stride into the 15th Five-Year" series, the National Development and Reform Commission said China now leads the world in the speed of AI development and the scale of its application, achieving positive results in building new economic momentum, improving people's wellbeing and raising governance levels, CCTV reported.
Wang Ruomeng, deputy director of the NDRC's Department of Innovation and High-Tech Development, said AI is moving from the lab into factories, fields and offices. In industry, more than 56,000 smart factories have emerged; in agriculture, AI sharply cuts pesticide and fertilizer use and makes field management more precise; in services, finance, logistics and foreign-trade agents can automatically complete contract review, customs declaration and claims settlement, with "employee plus agent" business models appearing.
AI has moved from single-point pilots to coordinated research-and-development, production and distribution across multiple links, showing enormous potential in raising efficiency, lowering risk and saving cost.
