BEIJING, Aug. 2026 - Chinese new energy vehicle startups released their July 2026 delivery data, with Leapmotor emerging as the standout performer: 101,267 units delivered, up 102% year-on-year, becoming the first Chinese EV startup to break the 100,000-unit monthly threshold.
Among the traditional "Weixiaoli" trio (NIO, XPeng, Li Auto): Li Auto maintained its leadership position with 30,468 units delivered in July, bringing cumulative historical deliveries to 1,764,155 units. The company's new L6 model officially launched in July, while the L9 began local production in Kazakhstan. XPeng Group delivered 38,027 units, up 4% year-on-year, with global cumulative deliveries surpassing 1.2 million units.
NIO was the fastest-growing among the trio in H1 2026, with retail sales jumping 67.1% to 190,600 units. The ES8 SUV led its segment, with 78,618 units sold in the first half. Huawei-backed HarmonyOS Smart Mobility delivered 45,046 units in July, with cumulative H1 sales of 286,000 units, up 13.7%.
