SHENZHEN, Aug. 2, 2026 - BYD released its July 2026 production and sales report, showing monthly sales of 419,211 new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 21.8%, securing the top position among Chinese automakers for the 62nd consecutive month. Overseas markets emerged as the core growth driver, with passenger vehicle and pickup exports reaching nearly 180,000 units, surging 124.3% year-on-year to a new all-time high.
For the January-July period, BYD's cumulative sales reached 2,227,722 units. Overseas sales accounted for over 43% of monthly volume, signaling a fundamental shift in BYD's market structure. Industry analysts project BYD's full-year 2026 overseas sales could reach 1.8-1.9 million units, potentially making BYD the leader in Chinese automotive exports.
BYD's production volume for July reached 420,249 units, up from 317,892 units a year earlier. The company now ranks sixth among global automakers by sales volume, marking a historic milestone for a Chinese automotive brand. In the UK market, BYD has become the top-selling pure electric vehicle brand.
