The China Federation of Logistics and Procurement published logistics operation data for January to July 2026, showing that China's logistics operations continue to maintain a steadily improving development trend, with resilience and vitality continuously demonstrated.
From January to July, China's total social logistics volume reached 21.45 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.0%, with demand structure. Industrial product logistics remained stable with significant structural upgrading. Total industrial product logistics volume grew 5.3% year on year. Manufacturing logistics grew robustly, particularly in equipment manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing sectors, with growth rates of 12.3% and 16.9% respectively. Import logistics volume grew 1.8% year on year, with high-tech and mechanical-electrical product import logistics volume growing rapidly. Machine tool import logistics volume grew over 40% year on year in July.
Consumer logistics for residents improved in quality and expanded in volume, with vitality released in lower-tier markets. From January to July, total logistics volume for unit and resident items grew 3.7% year on year. Various regions built convenient logistics channels between urban and rural areas by opening fruit farmer special lines and bus routes, ensuring smooth cargo flow. Rural consumer goods retail sales grew 2.4% year on year, accounting for 39.1% of total social consumer goods retail sales. The rural business volume index in the e-commerce logistics index maintained high levels, with lower-tier market logistics demand accelerating expansion. Business circulation scenarios innovated, with online-offline integration expanding consumer logistics space. Online retail sales of goods grew 4.6% year on year.
Logistics supply capacity steadily strengthened, and channel network operations became smoother. From January to July, total logistics industry revenue reached 8.5 trillion yuan, growing 4.5% year on year. Multiple transportation modes synergistically upgraded: China-Europe freight trains operated 12,988 runs, up 17.6% year on year; cross-border freight vehicle trips grew 18.8% year on year. Aviation cross-border channels simultaneously expanded — by the end of July, over 100 new international aviation freight routes were opened, adding 229 round-trip flights per week. Electronic components and computer parts for computing power hardware import and export grew rapidly, with civil aviation international route cargo transportation volume growing 12.7%. Transportation mode connection tightness improved, with container rail-water combined transport volume growing 9.2% and rail-road combined transport volume growing 80.9% year on year.
