With artificial intelligence moving from concept to industrial deployment, Yiwu-based companies are quietly testing AI in their own operations. Zhejiang Kaia Holding Group is one such example, integrating AI into cross-border logistics, warehousing and overseas marketing.
Kaia Holding operates more than a dozen branches nationwide and has built overseas operations in the United States, Mexico and Brazil, with close to 500 employees globally. Founded in Yiwu more than 20 years ago, the company began with traditional international freight forwarding and domestic consolidation services, then expanded into overseas warehousing, e-commerce logistics and tax and fiscal management as cross-border e-commerce grew.
Today AI covers multiple business scenarios. In online communication, Kaia's AI service system breaks the cross-border logistics process into stages — inquiry, domestic pickup, booking, arrival, overseas clearance — using AI to monitor and analyze data in real time, intelligently identifying customer questions and automating replies. In warehousing, AI visual recognition compares actual goods against order data to flag mismatches and reduce mis-loading risk. The company also uses AI tools for image design and video production, publishing finished content directly to overseas platforms for advertising.
Kaia's exports reached 953 million US dollars last year and are expected to grow roughly 30% this year. The 2026 Yiwu Trade Conference, themed "Digital Trade Opens New Roads, AI Opens New Business Seas," is set to open on October 23.
