At the 2026 Global Developer Pioneer Conference and International Embodied AI Skills Competition in Zhangjiang, Shanghai, China Electronics Technology Standardization Research Institute vice president Fan Kefeng released an embodied-intelligence evaluation benchmark system together with evaluation tools.
The benchmark aims to provide a unified, authoritative yardstick for fast-iterating embodied-AI technology, resolving the industry pain point of fragmented evaluation where every lab and vendor speaks its own language. The move gives robot makers, buyers and researchers a common reference for comparing manipulation, locomotion, perception and task-completion capabilities.
The conference gathered more than 300 robot-body companies and over 200 supply-chain companies, with competition spanning nine tracks and 23 events - one of the largest concentrations of China's embodied-AI ecosystem to date.
Standards are emerging as a competitive lever: with humanoid-robot shipments scaling and city-level robot industries sprouting across China, unified benchmarks could shape which platforms integrate fastest into manufacturing and service workflows.
