BEIJING, Aug. 5, 2026 - A new wave of intelligent driving adoption is sweeping through China's automotive market, with Huawei's Qiankun ADS system at the forefront. The system has successfully adapted to Audi's PPC fuel platform and PPE electric platform, both sharing the E³ 1.2 electronic architecture, achieving what the industry calls "fuel-electric parity in intelligence."
The Audi A6L and A5L are leading this transformation. The A5L's mid-to-high trim models feature Huawei Qiankun ADS with 32 perception sensors including dual LiDAR, HD cameras, millimeter-wave radar, and ultrasonic sensors, creating a 360-degree perception network. The dedicated LiDAR includes automatic cleaning and heating functions with a 200-meter detection range. Highway NOA supports 0-120 km/h full-speed adaptive cruise, lane centering, intelligent overtaking, and automatic ramp entry/exit.
As of August 2026, Huawei Qiankun ADS is deployed across 34 vehicle models from over 25 brands, covering fuel, pure electric, and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The system's rapid expansion from 34 models to an expected 50+ by year-end demonstrates that intelligent driving is no longer exclusive to new energy vehicles. Traditional automakers, particularly German luxury brands, are embracing Chinese smart driving technology to maintain competitiveness in the world's largest auto market.
