China's new energy vehicle (NEV) replenishment infrastructure is entering a new phase of upgrading. Data from the National Energy Administration shows that by the end of September, the country had 24.777 million charging points, up 37.2% year on year, including 5.207 million public charging points with a total rated power of 266 million kilowatts. The number of battery-swap stations reached 7,108 nationwide, according to the China Charging Alliance.
Leading companies are joining forces to build replenishment ecosystems. BAIC Group and Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) signed a million-unit battery-swap strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing, aiming to adapt multiple BAIC brands to CATL's Chocolate swap system and push toward a one-million swap-vehicle target. Dongfeng Motor also signed a group-level strategic cooperation pact with CATL to lay out integrated super-charging-and-swap and global ecosystems during the 15th Five-Year Plan. TELD has built its "Power Island No.1," combining charging robots, parking robots and AI agents to solve unmanned-vehicle charging.
Industry observers say replenishment is shifting from isolated station services to an integrated system linking travel, batteries and the power grid. As networks become standardized and intelligent, whoever first delivers an "oil-electric parity" replenishment experience will hold the initiative in the next round of industrial competition.
