Multiple auto-industry conferences held since October — from the 2026 China Auto Supply Chain Conference to the World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Congress and the Chery Global Innovation Conference — have showcased a wave of core technologies spanning chips, operating systems and chassis control, drawing partners from Germany, South Korea, Spain and beyond, the Economic Information Daily reported on November 3.
Anhui province has emerged as a vivid example of industrial upgrading: in the first half of 2026 it ranked first nationwide in four metrics — total vehicle output, NEV output, export volume and export value — becoming the first province to break one million vehicles in half-year exports. At its Global Innovation Conference, Chery unveiled 11 major core-technology clusters including the Ziwei series of automotive-grade chips and the CheryMind domain foundation model.
CAAM Executive Vice Chairman Fu Bingfeng said that, entering the 15th Five-Year period, strengthening tech innovation leadership and breaking through key core technologies is the top priority. The market contest has become a full-dimensional contest of range, fast charging, intelligent experience and manufacturing quality. Having completed the "lane-change overtaking" of electrification, the industry now regards AI as the core engine driving a leap from "tool assistance" toward "intelligence-native" mobility.
