On November 1, BYD, Geely, SAIC Motor, Chery, Xiaomi and Harmony Intelligent Mobility (HIMA) disclosed their October sales. BYD sold 490,200 new-energy vehicles in October, a year-to-date high, up 11% year on year; Geely Auto delivered 310,200 vehicles, up about 1%; SAIC Motor sold 430,000 complete vehicles, down 5.28%; and Chery sold 282,500 units, up 7.2%.
Xiaomi Auto delivered more than 50,000 vehicles in October, setting a record high, while HIMA delivered 33,537 units amid recently soft performance. The mixed results illustrate an industry where the traditional "Golden October" peak failed to materialize across the board.
Cailian Press noted that multiple factors combined to leave the market without its usual autumn momentum, even as leading electrified brands continued to set their own records and widen the gap with laggards.
