At the 2026 Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Conference on Oct. 29, Tencent announced that the Hunyuan Hy4 model will be released soon. Compared with the August Hy4 preview, Hy4 sharply improves long-horizon and real productivity tasks, boosts chain-of-thought efficiency and introduces visual understanding for the first time.
The cost-efficient Hy4 flash will also debut, inheriting Hy4's vision and agent capabilities with high-frequency co-design iteration. Tencent additionally launched Buddy One, an AI office suite unifying Tencent Docs, Meetings, IMA and Drive under one ID.
The Hy4 preview released on Aug. 28 carried 770 billion total parameters and 49 billion active parameters with a 1-million-token context, placing it in the top tier of open-source models.
The moves underscore Tencent's dual push on open-source and commercial deployment as Chinese large models intensify competition on multimodal capability.
