The 2026 Yiwu Trade Conference recently convened, drawing about 1,200 participants including experts, officials and business representatives, the Yiwu government portal reported. Delivered under the theme of AI empowerment, mutual benefit and digital-trade competitiveness, the event highlighted how artificial intelligence is reshaping Yiwu's market innovation.
Former vice minister Jiang Xiaojuan gave a keynote on "AI empowerment, mutual benefit and digital-trade competitiveness," mapping the evolution of AI and its application to trade, while Zheng Min's speech "Small Business, Big Equality: Yiwu Bosses' 'Hexagonal Going-Global' in the AI Era" offered practical paths for SME transformation that resonated with attendees.
The conference released two research outputs from the Yiwu Market Development Research Institute: the "Yiwu Digital Trade Development Report" and the "Report on Yiwu Enterprises Going Global to Latin America." It also ran the Yiwu Small Commodities City AI Ecosystem Conference, a professional-market high-quality development sub-forum and a logistics-hub development sub-forum.
The gathering reinforces Yiwu's strategy of using AI and digital trade to upgrade from a physical market into a global, intelligent trade infrastructure.
