The National Development and Reform Commission published the first batch of 136 national-level flagship major application-scenario projects, with six led by Zhejiang selected, People's Daily reported on October 21. Among them is a foreign-trade transformation-and-upgrade scenario built on the Yiwu Global Digital Trade Center.
The flagship scenario list is designed to surface scalable, replicable models that demonstrate the real economic value of digital and intelligent technologies. Yiwu's inclusion recognizes its model of using the Global Digital Trade Center to upgrade traditional market-procurement trade into a digitally enabled, globally connected commerce platform.
The center integrates source-goods supply, cross-border fulfillment, livestreaming and overseas showrooms, helping small and medium merchants reach buyers directly and shorten the path from factory to foreign shelf. It complements Yiwu's "brand-going-global" push and its AI-plus-quality service platform that has served more than 1,900 enterprise-times.
Analysts say the recognition signals policy support for Yiwu's transition from a physical small-commodity market into a digital trade infrastructure exporter, with implications for other manufacturing and trading clusters.
