Chinese automakers are cramming new-model launches into the run-up to the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays, with roughly 60 new or refreshed models hitting the market during this year's "Golden September." The peak arrives on September 22–23, when 12 models debut in just two days, including the GAC Trumpchi Ying 7, Dongfeng Voyah Dreamer 9, Nissan's new N7, Lotus For Me Scura and Chery QQ3 EV Modern, followed on September 23 by the Changan Qiyuan Q06, Qijing GX7, Denza Z9S, refreshed Zeekr LS6, new Geely Galaxy E5, Buick Zhijing E7 and Wey Gaoshan smart editions.
A clear trend across this wave is the rapid downward diffusion of high-end technology. Four-LiDAR, L3-architecture premium models such as the Qijing GX7 and Voyah Dreamer 9—once the exclusive domain of 400,000-yuan-plus vehicles—are now penetrating the 250,000-yuan segment and even creeping toward 200,000 yuan. Roof-mounted LiDAR and city-navigation assist, previously found only above 200,000 yuan, are spreading into mainstream sub-150,000-yuan models like the all-new Geely Galaxy E5 and Changan Qiyuan Q06, the latter now standardizing LiDAR across its entire range.
Industry analysts say the concentrated launches are designed to leave enough lead time for showroom visits, test drives, orders and deliveries before the holiday shopping surge. The technology trickle-down—driven by falling battery costs—marks a shift from pure price wars toward a "value war" where premium features reach the mass market faster than ever.
