On September 21, CCTV and CNR reported that following the release of the "15th Five-Year Plan for Intelligent Connected NEVs," China's auto industry is entering a new stage of systematic overseas expansion—moving from selling products to operating markets.
At the recently opened Hannover International Commercial Vehicle Show in Germany, 363 Chinese exhibitors accounted for more than 20% of all participants. Unlike in the past, many Chinese commercial-vehicle makers brought not just whole vehicles but complete going-global packages covering R&D, manufacturing and services. One Chinese commercial-vehicle firm with over 20 years abroad delivered its global 13-millionth vehicle to a Spanish customer.
BYD's overseas sales reached 188,700 units in August, up 134.6%, and its first-half overseas revenue exceeded domestic revenue for the first time in history. FAW Foton said it has switched from early整车 export to a systematic model of building local manufacturing bases and sales-service networks worldwide, "sinking capability locally" to build long-term sustainable competitiveness.
MIIT said it will deepen opening-up and cooperation, oppose all forms of protectionism and promote mutual recognition of international standards. China has led the drafting of 18 global technical regulations and 30 international standards, deeply integrating into the global supply chain.
