On September 19, Jinhua Customs told reporters that in the first eight months of 2026 the city's total imports-exports reached 794.9 billion yuan, up 14.5% year on year—exports 685.14 billion (up 11.2%) and imports 109.76 billion (up 39.8%). Jinhua ranked 2nd, 2nd and 4th in the province for imports-exports, exports and imports respectively.
Emerging markets expanded rapidly, diversifying the export base. Jinhua's trade with Belt and Road countries hit 526.86 billion yuan (up 19%, 66.3% of the total); with Africa and ASEAN it reached 142.75 billion and 115.47 billion yuan, up 38% and 46.4%, together contributing over 70% of the city's import-export increment. On September 16, a self-service certificate of origin for Cambodia under the China-ASEAN FTA took effect, with firms already enjoying tariff cuts.
Trade structure kept optimizing: "Jinhua-made" smart products accelerated overseas—electromechanical exports 288.65 billion (up 15.6%, 42.1% of exports) and labor-intensive goods 270.77 billion (up 15.5%); "new three items" exports 15.88 billion (up 13.7%), with lithium batteries and EVs up 1.2x and 1.3x. Yiwu, as Jinhua's foreign-trade engine, anchors much of this growth.
