A September 18 "High-Quality Development China Tour" feature shows how Yiwu is weaving standards, brand and intellectual-property protection into the entire small-commodity export chain. At the "small-commodity brand-going-global" store in District 2 of the International Trade City, standard, quality and IP services are embedded across merchants' overseas journeys.
Yiwu pioneered a "standards city," issuing 138 small-commodity group standards and 79 foreign-language versions; seven bilingual standards (e.g. "Robe") have become procurement references in Sudan, Yemen and Egypt. Its "1+5+2+M" brand-going-global system spans 94 projects in 38 countries and regions, serving 5,500+ enterprises with over 1 million SKUs and pulling more than 2 billion yuan of added export; the share of favorable outcomes in overseas IP disputes rose from 25% in 2023 to 48% in 2025.
In September 2026, Yiwu's "AI+Quality" service platform for small commodities went live, embedding six smart tools—product-quality interpretation, label-compliance assistance, quality e-class, calibration smart management, quality profiling and risk early-warning—into the "small-commodity city seller" app, marking a digital leap in quality infrastructure for going-global merchants.
